During our journey, the following lodging on our itinerary was at the Arabba resort nestled in the Dolomite Alps within Italy's Bolzano region.

Our stay extended for a delightful stretch of 4 nights and 5 days, during which we traversed various mountain trails and beheld the awe-inspiring beauty of Europe's most captivating mountains—the Dolomites!

If you haven't had the chance to visit yet, I wholeheartedly recommend that you do so and experience it for yourself!

Malita 3* hotel is conveniently positioned just 500 meters away from the heart of the Arabba resort. Nearby, there's a Catholic church adding to the local charm. Additionally, a mere 100 meters away, you'll find a pizzeria and two supermarkets.

Hotel Malita: A Closer Look at Your Perfect Accommodation

The architecture and interior design of the hotel, much like the majority in the Bolzano area, are reminiscent of Tyrolean houses, strongly influenced by Austrian aesthetics.

The hotel boasts a warm and tastefully designed reception area, a lobby complete with an elevator leading to the upper floors, an inviting restaurant with an outdoor terrace, a cozy bar, and complimentary parking.

Every room offers splendid views of the Del Sela and Marmolada mountain groups, and select rooms even provide a picturesque glimpse of the Cordevole River.

The hotel offers a range of room types to suit various preferences. Standard rooms span 18-22 sqm and may or may not include a balcony. Comfort rooms, sized between 25-27 sqm, all feature balconies with captivating views of the Marmolada Mountains. The superior rooms, measuring 22 sqm, represent the latest and most contemporary additions, with some including balconies. Additionally, there are family rooms, generously sized at 32 sqm.

Upon check-in, we were allocated a spacious comfort room by the reception. This room boasted a generous double bed and an additional single bed for a comfortable stay.

From the moment of entry, I appreciated the layout, with a foyer featuring a wardrobe. Directly ahead was the bathroom, and to the right was the main bedroom area. Here, you would find an armchair, a desk-like table with an open space below (presumably for a fridge), and a wall-mounted TV with an expansive screen, offering a plethora of satellite channels.

The beds, furnished with the traditional spring-based mattresses, were satisfactory, albeit slightly firm. Nevertheless, a good night's sleep was achievable.

I was particularly pleased with the cleanliness and quality of both the bed linen and bathroom towels. The bathroom itself featured a compact shower area enclosed by a glass wall.

Regrettably, my room didn't fall under the superior category, which typically hosts modern furnishings and showers. Nonetheless, I found solace in the ample space and thoughtful layout of the remaining bathroom, complete with various sizes of towels and strategically positioned towel racks.

Notably, the tap water was sourced from a spring, ensuring its quality and suitability for drinking purposes.

As I poured water into the glass, the glass walls began to fog up due to the intense cold.

The bathroom was equipped with a window that opened out onto the balcony.

However, the real highlight was the spacious balcony furnished with two chairs and a small table, offering an exceptional view of the rugged mountain ridges!

We cherished beautiful moments on the balcony, soaking in the breathtaking scenery.

Approximately 300 meters away was a cable car station that ascended to the ridge, reaching either Rifugio Padon at 2407 meters or Rifugio Luigi Gorza (with two available lines).

In the vicinity of the station, there existed a forest road that we ventured on one evening before dinner, surrounded by a splendid landscape and invigoratingly fresh air, filling us with a profound sense of positivity!

One notable aspect was the presence of frequent signposts along the forest path, spaced around 30 meters apart, displaying maps of the area and suggesting specific exercises.

Operated as a family venture, Hotel Malita catered to guests of all ages, showcasing a dynamic blend of service from both experienced seniors (with Nicolas being particularly outstanding for his attentiveness, humor, and kindness) and enthusiastic teenagers through a rotating system.

Savor Unforgettable Moments: Dining Experience at Hotel Malita

During our stay, we opted for the half-board dining plan.

In the morning, a buffet-style breakfast was available from 07:00 to 09:30. In the evenings, dinner was served between 19:00 and 21:00.

The morning buffet spread offered a range of options. In the evening, the meal commenced with a buffet of starters featuring raw vegetable salads such as lettuce, arugula, cabbage, grated carrot, beetroot, corn, boiled beans, tomatoes, boiled purple broccoli, boiled chickpeas, along with selections like breaded crabs, baked peppers, beef salad, breaded endives, breaded potatoes, spinach, scallops, sautéed mushrooms, onions, and cheese paste.

The remaining courses were ordered from a menu. This included a choice between a soup or an appetizer, like mushroom risotto, cheese balls with tomatoes and olive oil, pasta with tuna, salmon or octopus, penne arrabbiata with tomato sauce and pepperoni, and lasagna.

For the main course, there were options such as roast calamari with tartar sauce, schnitzel with potatoes, roast veal with potato chips, chicken with vegetables, roast pork with mustard sauce, among others. Dessert offerings comprised strudel with vanilla sauce, burnt sugar cream, ice cream, and fruit salad.

In the morning during breakfast, guests made their selections for the evening meal from the available menu options.

The culinary experience surpassed our expectations, presenting a delightful array of flavorful and diverse dishes. Having had a less impressive encounter with half-board dining in the southern parts of Italy previously, this experience left us pleasantly surprised and thoroughly content with the delightful meals on offer.

It's important to note that beverages, whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic, were not included and incurred additional charges, including water.

However, we opted to fill our bottles with potable water from our room and chose to purchase beer either at the resort or along the trail where prices were more favorable.

The wine and beer served at the table seemed relatively pricey to us.

Within our group, seated at a long table accommodating 16 individuals and a round table for 8, some paid 5 euros for a glass of wine, and others indulged in whiskey, although the exact cost eludes me.

During breakfast, in addition to a variety of vegetables, the spread included boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, an assortment of aged cheeses, salami, ham, pastrami, bacon, yogurt, cereals, an array of jams, fruits, chek, tea, coffee, and natural juices.
